JOSEPHINE STECH KOSTH

Born in Bridgeport Connecticut April 18, 1927 to July 25, 2017 At the Age of 90

Josephine Stech-Kosth aka Jo or Josie passed away at the age of 90 on July 25, 2017 at 12:30 a.m. peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loved ones. Josephine lived in Eagle Rock for over 63 years, Josephine got married to Michael Stech in Bridgeport, CT at a very early age and had her first child Katherine at the tender age of 15. followed by her second Patricia at 18 years and her third Mickie at the age of 19, her fourth Michael, Jr at the age of 21. Her fifth child with Michael was Daniel when she was 31 years old.
She was a stay at home mom until her fourth child started School and then she got a part time job at Thrifty Drug Store working hours when her children were at school. Always making sure she was at home when they got home from school. In 1959 when her fifth Child, was only ten months old her husband Michael Stech passed away in a tragic accident, leaving her with five children ranging from 10 months to 17 years old. She was only 32 years old.
Shortly after Michael passed she married George Kosth and in 1961 she had her sixth child, George, Jr. She opend up a clothing store at her home in 1966, when her business grew she purchased property on Eagle Rock Blvd. and moved her store there, where she stayed until she retired. After her second husband George passed in 1990, she decided to go back to work and she started working for her oldest daughter Katherine who owned LTC Home Health Care. Josephine became a caregiver, she loved it and she continued working until she was over Eighty years old.
Josephine has touched many people in her life and she left quite a legacey, She is survived by Her daughter Katherine her husband David, Daughter Mickie, her three sons Michael Jr., Daniel his wife Terri and George Jr. his wife Carol proceeded by daughter Patricia. Eighteen grandchildren, starting with Cynthia, Tamera, James, Lori, Carrena, Steven, Maria, Nicholas, Julian, Jennifer, Robert, Kearston, Chase, Karah, and Colin, proceeded by Scott, Mitchell and Candance. Twenty- three Great-grandchildren Travis, Adam, Andrew, Megan, Stephane, Shane, Katelyn, Madison, Delaney, Grayson, Tyler, Grace, Alexis, Ramona, Adrian, Austin, Dylan, Connor, Elsie, Iris, Jude, Zoe and Mikah she will never get to meet her Twenty-fourth due in September but I am sure she will be watching over all of them and she had one Great-Great Grandchild Iona. She is also survived by her older sister Carmilla, numerous nephews and nieces, way to many to name but they know who they are and spouses of her grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. Josephine will truly be missed by all, she was loved by so many.
